More people want simpler ways to pay, on any platform, at any time. Mono is one of the companies making that happen. As a fast-growing payment infrastructure provider, Mono is helping thousands of people and businesses pay easily, whether it’s a one-time checkout, a recurring payment, or even a transaction on WhatsApp. With Kuda Business API powering key parts of that experience, Mono is turning customer requests into uninterrupted payment journeys.

Meeting customers demands, one payment method at a time

Mono’s mission is rooted in helping people and businesses make and receive payments easily. As their customer base expanded, so did customers’ expectations. One of the most frequent requests they received was support for payments made through Kuda Pay ID. Customers were already familiar with Kuda’s digital-first experience and wanted to see it reflected in their checkout options.

“Kuda is a very familiar name and one of the top requests we get from people – ‘Do you support Kuda?’ or ‘Can I pay with Kuda?’” — Anita, Product Manager at Mono

As these requests continued to grow, it became clear that adding Kuda as a payment method would improve the overall customer experience and streamline payment completion. The Mono team was also looking for ways to reduce friction, especially the steps involved in typical bank transfers, like copying account numbers or switching between apps. The goal was to offer a more seamless flow regardless of the platform a customer used, from websites to mobile apps and even WhatsApp.

Smoother payments with Kuda Pay ID

To meet rising customer expectations, Mono integrated the Kuda Business API, starting with Kuda Pay ID. This feature allows users to complete transactions using just their phone number and a Pay ID, removing the need to manually copy account numbers or switch between apps to make a transfer.

For Mono, this was more than just adding another payment method. It was about giving customers more flexibility and control over payments, while working toward higher overall payment success rates. The Kuda Pay ID integration has been a key driver toward that objective, giving users a smoother, more reliable way to complete their payments. With Pay ID, users can complete payments in fewer steps, leading to a smoother, faster transaction experience across platforms.

The integration paid off. Customers now enjoy a smoother journey from intent to completion, while Mono has fewer failed payments and support requests to deal with.

From customer demand to core payment channel

Pay ID quickly became one of Mono’s top five most-used payment options, just weeks after integration. In fact, the volume of transactions made through Kuda have grown significantly. Mono recorded over a 50% increase in payments processed through Pay ID shortly after it was integrated, driven by the large number of customers already using Kuda.

“The adoption has been massive. From not having Kuda at all to becoming one of our top five connections, it’s been a big shift.”

Today, Mono records a success rate of over 95% on transactions completed through Kuda Business API. The majority of failed transactions recorded aren’t due to technical issues but user errors like incorrect details.

“For existing Kuda users, it’s a seamless experience. They already know the app and their details, so completing payments is simple.”

This success didn’t just stop at Pay ID. The early results inspired Mono to explore additional use cases, like enabling bill payments through the Kuda Business API. This momentum is now shaping Mono’s broader payment strategy.

What made the rollout so effective? A combination of thoughtful design, responsive support, and rock-solid technology.

It was easy for Mono to integrate Pay ID into their existing payment flow. The intuitive design meant users didn’t need to learn anything new, they could complete transactions with just their phone number and a unique Pay ID.

Mono noted that the API documentation was clean and easy to work with, making integration smooth and straightforward. According to the company’s product and engineering teams, implementation was seamless, allowing them to focus on refining the customer experience rather than troubleshooting. They also highlighted the Kuda Business team’s responsiveness, which kept the process moving quickly and gave Mono confidence to deliver value to its users.

What’s next for the Mono x Kuda partnership?

Mono’s payment volume is growing steadily, and Kuda remains a core part of its infrastructure. With Pay ID already a top-performing payment option and features like bill payments now live, what started as a response to customer demand has evolved into a long-term strategic partnership.

Now, Mono is building on that momentum. With deeper integration already underway, including features like bill payments, Kuda has become more than just a payment provider to Mono. It’s a reliable growth partner.
